The Community Enterprise Centre was awarded funding from the Welsh Capital Challenge fund in 1999/2000. A total budget of £387,500 was allocated for the acquisition, re-development and fitting out of a building and for the development of community businesses. The National Assembly for Wales recognised the need to improve the range of training and employment opportunities in the area and to foster an enterprise culture amongst residents.

The Community Enterprise Centre opened on 1 September 2000 providing a focal point for the co-ordination and effective delivery of a variety of activities and initiatives. The Community Enterprise Centre is effectively managed on a day to day basis by a highly committed and motivated team  and accommodate a:

Ø  Community Café with seating for 32 people.

Ø  Dee Valley Community Partnership office

Ø  CCN UK Wales and CrossRoads outreach offices

Ø  Lads and Dads Hair Studio

Ø  Clwy Family History Society
